Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Many vertebrate homeobox-containing genes have been identified based on their sequence similarity with Drosophila developmental genes. Members of the Dlx gene family contain a homeobox related to that of Distal-less (Dll), expressed in the head and limbs of developing fruit flies. The Distal-less (Dlx) family includes six members (DLX1–DLX6) and plays a role in forebrain and craniofacial development. Three transcript variants are described for this gene; one full-length variant remains uncharacterized. Studies indicate one isoform acts as a repressor of the beta-globin gene, while another lacks that function.
