Description:
The monoclonal antibody eBio5G3 recognizes CD171 (L1CAM), a neural cell adhesion molecule belonging to the Ig superfamily. CD171 mediates cell-cell interactions in neuronal myelination, neurite outgrowth, and regeneration. It is expressed on monocytes, dendritic cells, and certain tumor cell lines. The epitope recognized by eBio5G3 is located in the amino-terminal Ig-like domain.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of Panc-1 tumor cell line. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye excited with the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 600 nm. Recommended detection filter: 610/20 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Usage Recommendations:

• Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when combining multiple Super Bright dyes.
• Protect from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
• Samples can be fixed using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) and stored for up to 3 days at 2–8°C.

Target Information

L1CAM/CD171 is an axonal glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, consisting of multiple Ig-like and fibronectin-like domains. It plays a critical role in neuronal migration, differentiation, and development. Mutations in this gene are associated with CRASH syndrome (corpus callosum hypoplasia, retardation, aphasia, spastic paraplegia, and hydrocephalus). Alternative splicing of a neuron-specific exon may have functional significance.
