Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-4. Anti-Rat IL-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat IL-4 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This affinity-purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat IL-4 (500-P94Bt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-4.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-4 by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 exhibits a broad range of biological actions and shares overlapping functions with IL-13. STAT6 plays a key role in mediating the IL-4 signaling pathway. The IL-4 gene is located near IL-13 within a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q, coordinated by long-range regulatory elements across approximately 120 kb. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant.
