Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glutathione-S-Transferase (Schistosoma japonicum).
Cross-reactivity against Glutathione-S-Transferase from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein present in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, where it catalyzes a variety of reactions.
Glutathione S-transferase is used to create the GST gene fusion system, allowing purification of GST-fusion proteins via their affinity for glutathione.
Fusion proteins are valuable tools for studying direct protein–protein interactions.
The GST gene fusion system has been introduced into numerous expression vectors.
