Product Specific Information

The 2H7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD20, a 33–36 kDa transmembrane protein. CD20 is expressed by developing and mature B cells but not plasma cells. It is also detected at low levels on a subset of mature T cells and is involved in B-cell activation.

Target Information

CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein (33–37 kDa) expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, some T lymphocytes, and follicular dendritic cells. It regulates calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. CD20 is associated with lipid rafts and colocalizes with BCR during activation but remains at the surface after receptor ligation.
CD20 is a key target for therapeutic B-cell depletion since it is stably expressed on most B-cell malignancies and not internalized after antibody binding.
Diseases linked to CD20 dysfunction include Ms4a1-related common variable immune deficiency.
