Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Syndecan 4 only when phosphorylated at Ser179.
Target Information
Syndecans are type I integral membrane proteoglycans involved in cell–extracellular matrix adhesion and growth factor binding.
- Syndecan 1: Binds to collagens, fibronectin, and thrombospondin.
- Syndecan 1 & 3: Interact with midkine (MK), a growth/differentiation factor involved in embryogenesis.
- Syndecan 2: Highly expressed at morphogenetically active regions such as epithelial–mesenchymal interfaces and prechondrogenic/osteogenic mesenchymal condensations.
- Syndecan 4: Functions cooperatively with integrins in cell spreading and focal adhesion assembly.
