Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This antibody is purified IgG fraction obtained from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified Trypsin Inhibitor [Lima Bean]. Cross-reactivity with Trypsin Inhibitor from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

Trypsin is a 24 kDa serine proteinase produced in the pancreas as inactive trypsinogen. The active enzyme functions in the gastrointestinal tract, degrading proteins into peptides, preferring lysine and arginine residues.
Trypsin also cleaves chymotrypsinogen to form active chymotrypsin. Elevated immunoreactive trypsin levels in blood may indicate pancreatic malfunction and are used in cystic fibrosis screening.
