Anti-TRYPSINOGEN is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by dialysis against the specified buffer.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis produced a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified or partially purified Trypsinogen (Bovine Pancreas).
Cross-reactivity with Trypsinogen from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

This gene belongs to the trypsin family of serine proteases and encodes anionic trypsinogen. It is part of a cluster of trypsinogen genes located within the T cell receptor beta locus.
Enzymes of this family cleave peptide bonds following lysine or arginine residues. The protein is abundant in pancreatic juice, and its upregulation is characteristic of pancreatitis.
It may activate pro-urokinase in ovarian tumors, suggesting a role in tumor invasion, and can cleave type II collagen in rheumatoid arthritis synovitis tissue, potentially contributing to cartilage matrix degradation.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
