Target Information
The genus Streptococcus comprises a variety of pathogenic and commensal bacteria of medical and industrial importance. These gram-positive bacteria inhabit diverse hosts such as humans, horses, pigs, and cows, commonly colonizing mucosal surfaces of the mouth, nares, and pharynx.
