Target Information
TLK1 (Tousled-like kinase 1) is a nuclear serine/threonine kinase potentially involved in the regulation of chromatin assembly.
Originally described in Arabidopsis, TLK1 is a novel target of the DNA damage checkpoint, rapidly inactivated upon exposure to ionizing radiation (IR).
This inactivation is mediated by the S-phase DNA damage checkpoint and requires ATM, NBS, and CHK1 after double-strand breaks, replication blockade, or UV irradiation.
