This antibody detects endogenous levels of ALK only when phosphorylated at Tyr1586.
Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and plays a crucial role in brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene have been identified in various tumors, including anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer.
Chromosomal rearrangement often produces a fusion gene between ALK (chromosome 2) and nucleophosmin (chromosome 5), known as the NPM-ALK fusion gene, which is oncogenic.
ALK encodes a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with a transmembrane and extracellular domain and shares high sequence similarity with LTK. It is essential for proper neuronal development and signaling.
