This antibody detects endogenous SPINK5 (LEKTI) protein at a molecular weight of approximately 130 kDa.
Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Lympho-epithelial Kazal-type inhibitor (LEKTI) is a serine protease inhibitor that protects mucous epithelia from microbial attack and inflammation. LEKTI serves as a marker of epithelial differentiation and is strongly expressed in the granular and uppermost spinous layers of the epidermis and in differentiated layers of stratified epithelia.
Mutations in the SPINK5 gene, which encodes LEKTI, are associated with Netherton syndrome, a severe autosomal recessive disorder characterized by atopic dermatitis, hayfever, and related allergic conditions.
