The VI-PL2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD61 (Integrin beta 3, GPIIIa).
CD61 (90–110 kDa) is a β-integrin family member expressed on leukocytes, platelets, endothelial, and smooth muscle cells. It forms heterodimers with α-integrins CD41 (αIIb) and CD51 (αv), mediating adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation.

• CD41/CD61 (αIIbβ3): Involved in platelet aggregation; binds fibrinogen, vWF, and fibronectin.
• CD51/CD61 (αvβ3): Binds vitronectin, fibronectin, vWF, and fibrinogen; modulates endothelial migration and survival.

This antibody cross-reacts with canine and non-human primates (baboon, rhesus, cynomolgus monkey).

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on human peripheral blood cells. Use 5 µL (1.0 µg) per test (in 100 µL final volume).

Target Information

CD61 (GPIIIa, ITGB3) is a 105 kDa glycoprotein expressed on megakaryocytes, platelets, and their precursors. It associates with αIIb (CD41) or αV (CD51) integrins and functions as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, vitronectin, and thrombospondin.
