Product Specific Information

The SIDI8BEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and rhesus macaque CD8 beta.
CD8β associates with CD8α to form the CD8αβ heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic T cells.
This receptor complex binds to MHC class I and is involved in T cell development and activation.
SIDI8BEE detects CD8β in both CD8αβ heterodimers and CD8ββ homodimers.

• Tested at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per 100 µL test volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

Target Information

The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes, mediating efficient immune interactions.
CD8 acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor (TCR) to recognize antigens presented by MHC class I molecules.
Functional forms include αα homodimers or αβ heterodimers.
Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains.
The CD8B gene encodes the β chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants and a pseudogene on chromosome 2.
