Product Specific Information

The 2D10.4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD80 (B7-1), a 60 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. CD80 is expressed by activated B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T cells. It binds with high affinity to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4), playing a crucial role in T-B cell communication and activation.

• Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested with Raji cells at 5 µL (0.5 µg)/test
• Recommended Cell Range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Brilliant Violet™ 711 (BV711) emits at 713 nm and is optimized for cytometers equipped with a violet (405 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility before use.

Buffer Recommendation:
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
BV711 is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation Compatibility:
Samples can be stored up to 3 days in the dark at 4°C using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54). BV711 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands for T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation. CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells, EBV-transformed B cell lines, Burkitt’s lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes. Dysfunction of CD80 is associated with conditions such as gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
