Product Specific Information
Clone M021 detects a 38 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Annexin A1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431, MDA-MB-231, and A549 cells. The antibody also detects full-length recombinant human Annexin A1, but not Annexin A2 or Annexin A5 recombinant proteins.
This antibody is suitable for Western blot, ELISA, immunocytochemical labeling, and immunoprecipitation.
Target Information
Annexin I belongs to a family of Ca²⁺-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins that are preferentially located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane. Annexin I has a molecular mass of 40 kDa and exhibits phospholipase A2 inhibitory activity.
Since phospholipase A2 is required for the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, Annexin I may have potential anti-inflammatory activity.
