Target Information
PTPRD is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are signaling molecules that regulate various cellular processes including growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This receptor-type PTP contains an extracellular region, a single transmembrane segment, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains. The extracellular region is composed of three Ig-like and eight fibronectin type III-like domains.
Studies in chicken and fly suggest PTPRD plays a role in promoting neurite growth and regulating axon guidance in neurons.
