Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This receptor-type PTP includes:
- Extracellular region with MAM domain, Ig-like domain, and four fibronectin type III-like repeats
- Single transmembrane region
- Two tandem catalytic domains
It mediates cell-cell aggregation via homophilic interaction and can interact with scaffolding protein RACK1/GNB2L1, contributing to downstream signaling during cell adhesion.
Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
