Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) ubiquitously expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes.
It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues. CD45 glycoprotein is crucial in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases.
CD45 exists as multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. CD45 isoforms differ in their ability to translocate into glycosphingolipid-enriched membrane domains depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and modulates integrin-mediated signal transduction, apoptosis, and immunological functions.
