Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 are inhibitory enzymes of the matrix metalloproteinase family, essential for maintaining connective tissue integrity.
TIMP-2 shows high binding affinity to both the latent (pro) and active forms of 72 kDa Type IV collagenase (MMP-2 or gelatinase A), and also binds the active form of 92 kDa Type IV collagenase (MMP-9 or gelatinase B).
It inhibits the proteolytic invasiveness of tumor cells and normal placental trophoblast cells.
