Target Information
The chaperonin containing TCP1 (CCT) complex consists of two back-to-back rings, each containing eight unique but homologous subunits such as CCT4. CCT assists the folding of newly translated polypeptide substrates through ATP-driven cycles of release and rebinding of partially folded intermediates. Substrates include cytoskeletal proteins actin and tubulin, as well as alpha-transducin.
