Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse GLI-2 and 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human GLI-1 and GLI-3 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Gli-2 belongs to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein subclass of the Gli family. Members of this subclass act as transcription factors binding DNA through zinc finger motifs containing conserved H-C links. Gli family proteins mediate Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling and are implicated as oncogenes in embryonal carcinoma cells. The encoded protein localizes to the cytoplasm and activates PTCH gene expression, playing roles in embryogenesis and being associated with phenotypes such as Greig cephalopolysyndactyly syndrome, Pallister-Hall syndrome, and various forms of polydactyly.
