Target Information
CD28 antigen is a 44 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric T cell-specific surface glycoprotein. It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is constitutively expressed on most peripheral blood T lymphocytes. CD28 serves as a critical T cell costimulatory receptor, providing a secondary activation signal by binding to CD80 and CD86 on antigen-presenting cells. It also prevents T cells from entering an anergic or apoptotic state. CD28 expression varies across T cell developmental stages and is associated with diseases such as mycosis fungoides and Sezary’s disease.
