Product Specific Information

Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water and centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, store aliquots at -20°C for higher stability or at 4°C with an antibacterial agent. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.


Target Information

BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) is a member of the neurotrophin family. It is synthesized as pre-proBDNF, processed to proBDNF, and further cleaved to the mature 14 kDa protein. Both pro-BDNF and mature BDNF are biologically active and secreted in synaptic vesicles.
BDNF is widely expressed in the central nervous system and acts through the TrkB receptor and the lower-affinity receptor p75-NTR. It promotes neuronal survival, differentiation, and plays a key role in memory formation and synaptic plasticity.
Reduced expression of BDNF has been observed in Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s disease, and it is also implicated in stress response and mood disorder regulation.
