The Applied Biosystems™ Human TBP (TATA-box binding protein) Endogenous Control (VIC™/MGB Probe, Primer Limited) is designed as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples. It can be used in conjunction with other gene expression assays for accurate normalization.

This probe is labeled with VIC™ dye and MGB, and the primers are limited. It is suitable for both multiplex and singleplex PCR reactions. The control is compatible with Inventoried and Non-Inventoried TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, Custom TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, and/or Custom TaqMan™ Primers and Probes.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls eliminate the need for assay design and testing by providing pre-designed probe and primer sets to normalize RNA or DNA amounts in reactions. These controls simplify quantitative gene expression analysis across various species, including human, mouse, rat, and other eukaryotes.

Complete Solution for Quantitative Gene Expression

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls help avoid the trial-and-error process of control selection. They are designed for consistent expression across samples, ensuring reliable normalization in gene expression studies.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested and provided as a single 20X mix. They are compatible with universal two-step RT-PCR conditions. Simply combine with TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and cDNA samples to obtain sensitive and reproducible quantitative data on Applied Biosystems instruments such as 7900HT, 7300, 7500 Real-Time PCR Systems, and the 7000/7700 Sequence Detection Systems.

Flexible Offering

Each endogenous control uses proven 5′ nuclease chemistry. Available configurations include:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) with two unlabeled primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) with two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM) with two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting for cDNA input differences. Ensure consistent expression of the control gene across all samples. For multiplexing, the control gene should be more abundantly expressed than the target gene.

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

• VIC™-labeled probes are primer limited, enabling multiplexing with target assays.
• FAM™-labeled probes are not primer limited and are intended for singleplex assays.
