Target Information

P2Y1 is a purinergic receptor that mediates platelet shape change and aggregation through ADP binding, leading to intracellular calcium mobilization via phospholipase C activation. It also influences nitric oxide release and neuronal signal modulation. P2Y1 expression is found broadly across tissues, notably in the brain, with ESTs identified from human embryo, lung, and placenta libraries.
