Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3. These interactions activate signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET plays a role in embryonic development such as gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, and kidney development. In adults, it is involved in wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
MET has been associated with various cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it an important target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
