Target Information
GAD65 (glutamic acid decarboxylase-65)는 인슐린 의존성 당뇨병(IDDM), 강직인 증후군(stiff man syndrome), 다선성 자가면역 질환(polyendocrine autoimmune disease) 등 자가면역 질환에서 발견된다.
GAD65에 대한 자가항체는 새로 진단된 IDDM 환자의 약 60–70%에서 검출되며, 질병 활성도의 중요한 지표로 사용된다. 이러한 자가항체는 주로 GAD65의 구조 의존적 영역을 인식하며, GAD67에는 거의 결합하지 않는다. GAD67에 대한 자가항체는 약 15%의 IDDM 초기 환자에서 발견되며, 대부분 GAD65로 차단될 수 있어 두 이소폼 간에 공통 에피토프가 존재함을 시사한다.
