Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Human AK2.
Target Information
Adenylate kinases regulate the adenine nucleotide composition within a cell by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate groups among adenine nucleotides. Three isozymes—AK1, AK2, and AK3—have been identified in vertebrates. The AK2 isozyme is localized in the mitochondrial intermembrane space and may play a role in apoptosis. Expression of these isozymes is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
