Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Cofilin only when phosphorylated at Tyr140.
Target Information
Cofilin binds to F-actin and exhibits pH-sensitive F-actin depolymerizing activity. It regulates actin cytoskeleton dynamics and is important for normal progress through mitosis and cytokinesis. Cofilin also plays a role in cell morphology regulation and cytoskeletal organization. It is required for the up-regulation of atypical chemokine receptor ACKR2 from endosomal compartments to the cell membrane, enhancing chemokine uptake and degradation efficiency. Additionally, Cofilin is essential for neural tube morphogenesis and neural crest cell migration.
