This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MAGEF1 protein.
Target Information
Melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) proteins are silent in normal tissues except for male germ cells and, in some cases, the placenta. These antigens are tumor-specific, expressed in various tumor cell types, and are of particular interest for antitumor immunotherapy.
MAGE family genes encode tumor antigens recognized by autologous cytolytic T lymphocytes in human melanoma. Although the exact function of MAGE proteins is unknown, they may play roles in embryonal development, tumor transformation, and progression.
