Product Specific Information

The C398.4A monoclonal antibody reacts with ICOS (Inducible Costimulatory molecule), also known as H4/CRP-1/AILIM, and cross-reacts with mouse and rat ICOS.
ICOS is a T cell-specific activation molecule and a member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family. It is a dimer (47–57 kDa) expressed on activated T cells, providing potent costimulatory activity for T cell activation and proliferation, and is essential for the humoral immune response.

C398.4A displays:

• Strong costimulation of proliferation in T cell clones
• Intermediate costimulation in activated T cells
• Weak costimulation in resting T cells
• High IL-10 production from pre-activated cells expressing ICOS

The epitope recognized by C398.4A differs from that bound by ICOSL and does not block ICOSL binding.
