Product Specific Information

The LN3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human MHC class II molecule HLA-DR.
HLA-DR is expressed on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) such as B cells, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T cells.
It plays a key role in presenting peptides to CD4+ T lymphocytes.

  • Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on human peripheral blood cells
  • Recommended Usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (in 100 µL final volume)
  • Excitation/Emission: 405 nm / 436 nm (Violet Laser)
  • Filter Recommendation: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Super Bright polymer dyes are sold under license from Becton, Dickinson and Company.


Target Information

HLA-DR is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).
The alpha chain gene (DRA) contains 5 exons encoding the leader peptide, extracellular domains, transmembrane domain, and cytoplasmic tail.
The beta chain (DRB) contains polymorphisms defining peptide binding specificity.
Hundreds of DRB1 alleles exist, and typing is routinely performed for transplantation compatibility.

HLA-DR is expressed primarily on antigen-presenting cells such as:

  • B lymphocytes
  • Monocytes
  • Macrophages
  • Thymic epithelial cells
  • Activated T lymphocytes

HLA and MHC antibodies are critical in Immunopeptidomics, aiding neoantigen identification via LC-MS/MS.
