TLR은 병원체 관련 분자 패턴(PAMPs)을 인식하여 사이토카인 생성을 유도하며, 인간에서는 주로 태반과 췌장에서 발현됩니다.
TLR3는 바이러스 감염과 관련된 이중가닥 RNA(dsRNA)를 인식하고 NF-κB 및 type I interferon을 활성화합니다.
