CD99 (E2, MIC2)는 T 세포의 부착 특성과 일반적인 세포사멸(apoptosis)과는 다른 형태의 프로그램된 세포사멸을 조절하는 막관통 당단백질입니다. CD99의 역할은 특정 T 세포 분화 단계(예: corticothymocytes)에 특이적으로 나타나며, CD99R 아이소폼의 발현은 조혈계 내 T, NK, 및 골수계 세포에 제한적으로 존재합니다.
