Target Information

FBXO33 is the substrate recognition component of the SCF (SKP1–CUL1–F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, which mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. FBXO33 likely recognizes and binds phosphorylated target proteins such as YBX1. Members of the F-box protein family, including FBXO33, contain an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif that mediates interaction with SKP1. SCF complexes act as protein-ubiquitin ligases, with F-box proteins linking SKP1 and specific ubiquitination targets.
