Target Information
MCM7은 진핵세포의 유전체 복제 개시 과정에 필수적인 고도로 보존된 미니 염색체 유지 단백질(MCM) 중 하나를 암호화하는 유전자입니다. MCM 단백질들이 형성하는 헥사머 복합체는 pre-replication complex (pre_RC)의 핵심 구성 요소로서 복제 포크 형성과 DNA 복제 관련 단백질들의 결합에 관여합니다. MCM2, 4, 6과 함께 구성된 MCM 복합체는 DNA helicase 활성을 가지며 DNA 이중나선을 풀어주는 역할을 합니다. Cyclin D1-dependent kinase, CDK4는 이 단백질과 결합하여 종양억제 단백질 RB1/RB과의 상호작용을 조절할 수 있습니다. 또한, 대체 스플라이싱된 전사체 변형체들이 보고되어 있으며, 서로 다른 isoform을 암호화합니다.
