Target Information
The TNFRSF11B gene encodes a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. The protein is an osteoblast-secreted decoy receptor that negatively regulates bone resorption by binding to osteoprotegerin ligand, a key extracellular regulator of osteoclast development. Mouse studies suggest roles in lymph-node organogenesis and vascular calcification. Alternative splicing variants have been reported.
