Target Information
WNT3, part of the WNT gene family, consists of structurally related genes encoding secreted signaling proteins. These proteins are implicated in oncogenesis and several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. Expression studies in the teratocarcinoma cell line NT2 suggest involvement in neuronal differentiation induced by retinoic acid. This gene is clustered with another WNT family member on chromosome 17q21.
