For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD163 (M130 antigen, Ber-Mac3, Ki-M8, SM4) is a 130 kDa membrane glycoprotein belonging to the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily.
It serves as a receptor for the hemoglobin-haptoglobin complex and protects tissues from oxidative damage caused by free hemoglobin.
CD163 is expressed on human monocytes and macrophages, especially during the late phase of inflammation.
Expression is upregulated by IL-10, IL-6, and dexamethasone, while LPS and PMA induce shedding of CD163 into plasma or supernatant.
Binding to hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes is calcium- and pH-dependent, with higher affinity for multimeric haptoglobin (HP1F phenotype).
CD163 also triggers intracellular signaling cascades involving tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production, and secretion of IL6 and CSF1.
