Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select optimal production clones.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the S100 family, containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus and regulate various cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.

S100 genes include at least 13 members clustered on chromosome 1q21. This protein is widely expressed in various tissues, with high levels in the thyroid gland. In smooth muscle cells, it co-expresses with other family members in the nucleus and stress fibers, suggesting diverse roles in signal transduction.

Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
