Product Specific Information
The MAR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon Receptor I alpha subunit, an IgE-binding subunit lacking signal-transducing ability. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophil cells and is up-regulated by the presence of IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex with one beta and two gamma subunits, which contain ITAM motifs. The FcεRI complex triggers IgE-mediated allergic reactions.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of the MC/9 mouse mast cell line. Use ≤0.06 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize antibody titration per assay.

Target Information
FceR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha) is a subunit of the high-affinity IgE receptor. It forms a tetrameric complex (α, β, and two γ subunits). The α subunit binds IgE, while β and γ subunits enable signal transduction. This receptor initiates allergic responses by coupling allergen-bound IgE with mast cells, leading to histamine release and synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes—key mediators of hypersensitivity reactions such as hay fever and asthma.
