Target Information
KPNA2 is involved in nuclear protein import, a process requiring docking to the nuclear envelope and translocation through the nuclear pore complex.
Proteins with nuclear localization sequences (NLS) interact with KPNA2, which binds to NLSs of DNA helicase Q1 and SV40 T antigen, facilitating nuclear transport.
KPNA2 may also play a role in VJ recombination.
