Target Information
G(0)-G(1) switch gene 2 (G0S2)는 세포 사멸(apoptosis), 지방분해(lipolysis), 및 트라이아실글리세롤 가수분해(triacylglycerol hydrolysis)에 관여하는 미토콘드리아 단백질을 암호화합니다.
지방세포(adipocytes)에서는 G0S2가 adipose triglyceride lipase와 결합하여 지방 방울의 분해를 억제합니다.
크론병성 대장염(Crohn’s colitis)에서는 G0S2의 발현이 증가하며, 이는 변 중 비전환 지질량과 상관관계를 가집니다.
편평상피 폐암(squamous lung cancer)에서는 G0S2 유전자의 변이가 흔히 발견됩니다.
유방암(breast cancer)에서는 G0S2의 후성유전학적 침묵(epigenetic silencing)이 발생하여 비정상 세포의 정상적인 세포사멸 조절이 저해됩니다. 반면, G0S2가 후성유전학적으로 변형되지 않은 경우 Bcl-2/Bax 헤테로다이머의 매개자로 작용하여 암세포의 세포사멸을 유도합니다.
