Product Specific Information

The MEM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind to monocytes via surface CD14.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested for human peripheral blood cells at 4 µL (0.6 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

Note:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability.
• Use CellBlox Blocking Buffer (5 µL/sample) when staining with NovaFluor conjugates, including single-color controls.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds LPS in conjunction with LBP and plays a role in immune responses, including inflammation and infection processes. It can also bind apoptotic cells and is linked to diseases such as Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
