Product Specific Information
The MEM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein. CD14 is expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.
Each product contains:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.6 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, and DAPI.
Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains are recommended.
This conjugate ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01), which provides improved formulation for optimal staining.
Use 5 µL per sample in antibody cocktails or single-color controls.
NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, based on nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimal fluorescence with minimized spectral spillover.
Excitation: 552 nm; Emission: 612 nm; Laser: 561 nm (Yellow).
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein constitutively expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It acts as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds LPS in a reaction catalyzed by LBP and plays a role in immune response modulation, apoptosis recognition, and inflammatory processes.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
