This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the amino terminus of human CTRP7.
PEP-0276 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20157.
Target Information
Adipose tissue plays a major role in regulating physiologic and pathologic processes such as metabolism and immunity by producing and secreting bioactive molecules called adipokines.
One conserved family of adipokines is adiponectin/ACRP30 and its paralogs, the C1q/tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1–7. Unlike adiponectin, which is expressed exclusively by differentiated adipocytes, CTRPs are expressed in various tissues.
These proteins mainly act on liver and muscle tissue to control glucose and lipid metabolism.
Structural analysis of adiponectin revealed a link between TNF and C1q-containing proteins, suggesting a common ancestral innate immunity gene.
Like other members of the adiponectin and CTRP family, mature CTRP7 is secreted and found in the circulatory system.
