Target Information
S100B는 2개의 EF-hand calcium-binding motif를 포함하는 S100 단백질 계열의 구성원입니다. S100 단백질은 세포질 및/또는 핵에 위치하며, 세포 주기 진행 및 분화 등 여러 세포 과정 조절에 관여합니다.
S100B는 신경 돌기 연장, 흑색종 세포 증식, Ca²⁺ 흐름 자극, PKC 매개 인산화 억제, 성상세포증 및 축삭 증식, 미세소관 조립 억제에 관여할 수 있습니다.
이 유전자의 염색체 재배열 및 발현 이상은 알츠하이머병, 다운증후군, 간질, 근위축성 측삭경화증(ALS), 흑색종, 제1형 당뇨병 등 여러 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
