Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)은 핵 내 인산화 단백질로, 유전체 안정성 유지에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 다른 종양 억제 단백질, DNA 손상 감지기, 신호 전달자와 함께 BASC(BRCA1-associated genome surveillance complex)를 형성하여 종양 억제 기능을 수행합니다.
BRCA1은 RNA polymerase II 및 histone deacetylase complex와 상호작용하며, 전사 조절, 이중 가닥 DNA 손상 복구, 재조합에 관여합니다.
BRCA1 유전자 돌연변이는 유전성 유방암의 약 40%, 유전성 유방암 및 난소암의 80% 이상을 유발합니다. 또한 다양한 대체 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 일부는 질병 관련 변이로 확인되었습니다.
