This target has a predicted molecular weight of 88 kDa. Actual Western blot results show a band at 105 kDa.
Target Information
FGFR4 is a member of the FGFR family of receptor tyrosine kinases. This family regulates various cellular functions including angiogenesis, mitogenesis, osteogenesis, myogenesis, carcinogenesis, cellular differentiation, and tissue repair after injury. The FGFR family is implicated in several diseases such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetic retinopathy. FGFR4 is required for normal down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, the rate-limiting enzyme in bile acid synthesis, in response to FGF19. It also plays a role in postnatal lung development and may be involved in the development of skeletal muscle cell lineages.
